Youth Worship Coordinator



The Youth Worship Coordinator is responsible for the music ministry of the Youth Group.  He or she will be responsible for the planning and leading of Youth Group worship (7th – 12th grade).  This leader must be able to work in a team atmosphere, develop goals, be accountable for the accomplishment of the goals, communicate on a highly effective level and be able to recruit, train and develop student musicians for the Youth Band.

General Responsibilities
: Coordinate music program for weekly Youth Group meetings, including a growing number of youth involved on stage and in tech support positions.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

  1. Serve in a way that is consistent with FUMC.CV’s mission, values, and beliefs.
  2. Keep informed on music methods, materials, promotion and administration. 
  3. Identify, recruit, and train gifted individuals, and encourage those persons as they become involved in the Youth Group’s music ministry.
  4. Lead a weekly Youth Band rehearsal and service (Sunday evenings).
  1. Supervise use of and care for musical equipment in Youth Room.
  1. Be available at least once per month for rotation within the Crossing Service Band (requires one Wednesday and corresponding Sunday morning per month)

Job Skills and Requirements 

  1. Ability to interface and work collaboratively with all levels of church members and staff. 
  2. Ability to work independently, without supervision.  
  3. Ability to clear a mandatory background check and complete Safe Gatherings training.
  4. Ability to maintain confidentiality.  
  5. Able to organize work effectively, be flexible and adaptable.  
  6. Attested musical skills with ability to lead worship.
  7. Ability to organize, coordinate, and motivate musicians and technical team members. 
  8. Sense of humor and positive attitude. 
  9. Ability to relate to teens and be willing to be involved in their lives.  

 Preferred Qualifications 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Music or Theology. 
  2. Previous experience in a church related setting, including working with youth.
  3. Tech/Soundboard experience. 
  4. Experience with Planning Center, Pro Presenter, CCLI, and other music production software.

: Accountable to the Director of Youth Ministry, RaeLynn Fuson (in the case of Youth Director absence, the Lead Pastor, Brian Parcel)

CPR, first aide, TB test and fingerprint clearance are required. Must be at least 18 years old.
