More Than Sunday Supper

May 5th, 6:00 – 7:30 pm. – Fellowship Hall

On April 23-26, 2019 the Judicial Council of the UMC (roughly the equivalent of the US Supreme Court in terms of church governance) met to rule on two issues pertaining to the recent decisions of the General Conference. This is a significant step in the continuing dialogue of our Denomination’s future. We expect the Council to render a judgment before the May 5th More Than Sunday Supper and this decision will be the topic of conversation fore this evening. Please join us for this important conversation about the future of our Denomination and the impact these decisions will have on FUMCCV.

Mother’s Day Brunch tickets are now available for $10 each. Get yours on the quad after Sunday services or during business hours in the office! Come enjoy live music, a delicious meal prepared by our Men’s Group, a silent auction, and table service from our very own Youth Group!

The 5 Love Languages Sermon Series

Since 1995 when Gary Chapman wrote the first edition of The Five Love Languages, the ideas of this book have driven millions to seek deeper meaning in every single relationship they have, including with themselves and with God. The question following Easter every year is, Now what? There are lots of answers to this question, one is, ‘to love as Jesus loved’. In order to do this we have to understand the multiple dimensions of love….God’s love for us, our love for others, how others want to be loved, etc., etc. We will be using The Five Love Languages as a springboard into this conversation. We encourage everyone to go online and discover your love language (www.5lovelanguages.com) and then come to worship or class ready to love and be loved.
