FUMCCV Coronavirus Public Health Update

The news keeps giving us updates, the world keeps changing and our FUMCCV Re- Opening Task Force continues to flex with all the changes. Like you, we heard the good news of more freedom for fully vaccinated folks that came out this week from the CDC. We are exploring how this will affect our in- person worship plans and are waiting more direction fromCounty Public Health Officials. We are also sensitive to the fact that children age 12-15 have just begun to receive vaccinations and children under the age of 12 are still not eligible. The desire to throw away the masks, pack the room and sing at the tops of our lungs, while tempting, would eliminate any families with children under the age of 12 from the church and we certainly do not want a church that excludes kids and their associated adults.
At this moment the following is still the plan and is still dependent on County Public Health Officials’ recommendations.
June 6 — 9:30 am Traditional Worship in Sanctuary, 11 am Modern Worship in Fellowship Hall
  • Sanctuary music will be a combination of recorded groups and live soloists
  • Crossing music recorded
  • Nursery and Children’s Ministry Sunday School open
  • Fellowship on the Quad following services at the allowable capacity percentage per County requirements
  • Masking and social distancing required
July 1 — Indoor groups meetings
  • All groups can begin meeting indoors
  • Room reservations must be made through the church office – info@fumccv.org , (619) 656-2525
August 1 — Food, beverages and music groups return to campus
  • Choirs and the Crossing Band will begin to sing/ play in worship, following strict County Public Health Guidelines
  • Food and drinks will be allowed on campus
We will provide more information as we have it available, as we know things can change very quickly (for better or for worse). We hope to see you very soon!

This is not ideal, but we will make the best of it.  Please stay tuned to the website as we will be updating it often, as well as producing multiple resources for your spiritual growth during these difficult times (prayer services, music resources, children’s messages, youth meet ups, Bible studies, etc.).
In this strange time of social distancing remember the words of Paul, spoken when he was distanced from the Philippians, “I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for you.”  Philippians 1:3.  May we do that for one another during this times apart.

PHILOSOPHY We recognize the need for children to feel wanted and recognized; therefore, we believe one of the best ways children learn best is by establishing and building trust. We value the importance of learning and take pride in our teachers as they customize curriculum based on what the children are actively exploring and what interests them. We recognize each child learns differently and we encourage the children to do so. We also find value in that children learn best through daily interactions within their environment. In believing this, we strive to help children develop healthy attitudes towards themselves and others so that they may be functioning citizens in their society.
Because we are a program that is passionate about helping all individuals reach their full potential, we understand the importance of acceptance. Our educators lead a Christian living example by providing love, trust, safety, encouragement, and comfort that all children need daily.
MISSION STATEMENT: To encourage and support the success and well-being of children, families, and the child care community. We will provide opportunities for social-emotional interactions, foster cognitive growth, and physical development.
