Thanksgiving Bag Drive

Provide a Thanksgiving meal for a

family in need this holiday season!

Each year, we come together to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in our community who might otherwise struggle to afford one. This is one way we demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ in a real way by supporting our neighbors in need.

Where the Bags Go
All donated bags will be shared with:

  • Nestor Good Neighbor Center (Imperial Beach)

  • Chollas View United Methodist Church (Southeast San Diego)

Together, these community hubs open their doors to local families, ensuring they can enjoy a holiday meal.

Goal for 2025
We are aiming for 100 complete bags this year, with 50 going to Nestor GNC and 50 going to Chollas View UMC. Keep an eye on our Turkey Tracker as we see the generosity of our church family in action.

How to Participate

  1. Shop for all of the items on our shopping list below.

  2. Pack your items into a sturdy reusable grocery bag.

  3. Drop off your bag in one of two ways:
    • Before or after 9:30 am Worship service in the Narthex (lobby) of the Church
    • At the church office (Monday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm)

Important Date
Deadline to donate: Sunday, November 9, 2025

Purchase the meal from our shopping list and bring it in a sturdy, reusable bag to any service in the Narthex until Sunday, Nov. 9th

  • $30 Ralphs Gift Card for Turkey (please write the amount on the gift card)

  • 1 Large Stuffing Boxed Mix

  • 1 Large Box Instant Mashed Potatoes

  • 1 Large Can of Corn (or 2 Small Cans)

  • 1 Large Can of Green Beans (or 2 Small Cans)

  • 1 Large Can of Fruit Cocktail (or 2 Small Cans)

  • 1 or 2 boxes of JELL-O

  • 1 Can of Cranberry Sauce

  • 1 Large Can of Yams or Sweet Potatoes (optional)

  • 1 Dessert:

    • 1 Boxed Pie Crust Mix and 1 Can Pie Filling
      OR

    • 1 Boxed Cake Mix and 1 Can Frosting
